All You Need To Know About Booking A Ticket With The Indian Railway

Do you want to book a ticket with the Indian Railways in a passenger train for a journey that you want to undertake? Well, there are mainly two ways through which the ticket booking can be done, and you need to be aware of the details before you make the decision which one would be best for you.

There are several online portals through which you can get your booking done like the IXIGO web portal. If you do not want to do the booking online or do not have the internet connection at your disposal, then you have the option of going to the railway station and booking the ticket from the ticket counter. Let us take a more detailed look at the two options.

When booking online

Well, if you want to do the booking online, then the first thing that you will have to do is open an account to be able to book a ticket. Once the account has been opened, the next thing that you will have to do is check the ixigo irctc enquiry tab to find out about the details and availability of the trains that you can take. The first thing that you will have to do is decide the date of the journey. Once that has been decided, you need to key in your date of travel, the place that you will be travelling from, or more precisely the station that you will be catching the train from and your destination station. If you do not know the name of the station that you need to take from a place, you will find out the names online. Once you key in the details, you will be shown a list of the trains that you can take. Check the timings and the days on which the trains are operative and then select the one which is best for you. Once you have selected the train, the next thing to do would be to click on that tab, check the availability and select the type of coach that you want to travel in. Once you have done that, you need to provide the passenger details like name, sex, age, etc. of those who will be travelling. After you click ok and make the payment online, your ticket will be generated and sent to your phone as well as the registered email id. Carry the ticket and also a valid id proof with you when you travel.

When booking at the station

If you decide to travel on the day of the journey or have little to no access to the internet, visit the station, enquire manually about the trains that you can take, fill out a form with the passenger details and then a ticket will be generated for you on the spot. This is an option that people avail last minute or when taking short journeys.

Thus, there are two options when it comes to booking a ticket with the Indian Railways. Select the one which is most suitable and convenient for you.
