The NEET UG 2025 answer key will be made available in the near future by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates who took the test on Sunday, May 4 will be able to find the official answer key, as well as their OMR response sheets, on the official NEET portal – neet.nta.nic.in – in the near future.

When Will the Answer Key Be Available?

Though NTA hasn’t announced the exact release date as yet, if we observe previous trends, there’s a pattern:

  • In 2023, the test was conducted on May 7, and the provisional key of answers was released on June 4 (28 days later).
  • In 2022, the test was conducted on July 17, and the key was released on August 31 (45 days later).
  • Last year, NEET was held on May 5, and the answer key was released on May 29 – a 24-day gap.

Following this trend, students can expect the NEET 2025 answer key to be released by the end of May.

What Else Will Be Released Alongside the Answer Key?

NTA will also put up the NEET OMR response sheets, which will allow students to verify their marked responses. This will enable candidates to cross-check their answers with the official key and estimate their likely scores before the final result.

NEET UG 2025 Marking Scheme

Following is how the marks would be calculated:

  • Correct answer: +4 marks
  • Incorrect answer: -1 mark
  • Unanswered or marked for review: 0 marks

Special cases:

  • If there are more than one correct answers, anyone who has selected any of the correct alternatives will be awarded full marks (+4).
  • If all the alternatives are correct, then all the candidates who have tried the question will receive full marks.
  • If a question is skipped or proved to be wrong, everyone will receive +4 marks irrespective of whether or not it was tried.

Exam Difficulty: How Tough Was NEET UG 2025?

As per the feedback from students and educational experts, the NEET paper this year was tougher than normal.
Questions, particularly in Physics and Chemistry, were concept-based and time-consuming, as per a pre-COVID trend. Most students believed that getting high scores would be difficult compared to previous years.

Expected Cut-Off Marks (Category-Wise)

As per expert analysis by Vidyamandir Classes, following is what candidates can anticipate as qualifying cut-offs:

  • General category: 720–162 marks
  • OBC/SC/ST categories: 161–127 marks

These are percentile-based cut-offs and may change based on overall exam difficulty and trend of performance.

When Will NEET UG 2025 Results Be Declared?

The result of NEET UG 2025 is likely to be announced on June 14, according to the NTA calendar. After the answer key is released and any challenges (if at all) are settled, the results will be published on the official portal.

After the answer key and response sheet are released:

  • 🧮 Match your answers with the provisional answer key
  • ✏️ Make an estimate of your marks with the help of the marking scheme
  • Submit objections, if any, within the official challenge window
